The Walking Dead - "Hershel's Barn" tribute
"Barn Door" Tribute:
This project was made as a tribute to one of the most powerful and emotional episodes of the whole series: "Pretty Much Dead Already" where the group finds Sophia in the barn.
The piece features a familiar TWD design of a skull made of many of the walkers that appeared on the show at the time. The skull is burned on traditional buckskin and has a 3D relief texture. The barn door was constructed by hand, from reclaimed cedar wood, with antique barn-door hinges.
The skin is nailed to the door with hand-smithed nails.
Sophia's hand and eye were sculpted, the hand gripping the side of the door, and the eye is peeking through a crack in the door.
It measures roughly 4'x4' and weighs ~30lbs

Sophia's Hand and Eye
Sophia's hand and eye were sculpted and added to the piece. The dead-looking hand grabs the edge of the door, and the eye peeks through a crack, much like it was in the episode. Both pieces attach easily to the back of the door with magnets, and can be easily removed without leaving any trace on the front.
The eye itself features a programmed LED which makes the eye glow and slowly fade in and out. The controller is attached to the back of the door, and the speed of fade in/out can be changed through a dial on it. A 5v power supply, with it's own switch, powers the LED.
